How Good Hours works.

Good Hours is an independent publication. What we choose to cover, how we research it and how commercial relationships are handled all begin with the same principle: readers should be able to understand what they are reading and why they can trust it.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions at Good Hours are made independently. A brand, publicist, advertiser, artist, destination or other organization does not receive favorable editorial coverage because it has a commercial relationship with the publication.

Receiving a product, press release, invitation, advance material or access does not guarantee coverage.

Accuracy and sourcing

Good Hours aims to publish information that is accurate, clearly presented and appropriately sourced.

When a story relies on factual claims that are not common knowledge, we aim to trace those claims to reliable sources. Depending on the subject, these may include original research, academic publications, government agencies, recognized institutions, official documentation, direct statements or other primary and authoritative sources.

Sources are chosen for their relevance and reliability rather than simply because they support a predetermined conclusion.

Interviews and quotations

Quotations attributed to an interview subject should reflect what that person actually communicated. Good Hours does not invent quotations or present imagined statements as interviews.

Interviews may be edited for length, clarity, grammar or readability while preserving the meaning of the response. Material changes that could alter a speaker’s intended meaning should not be made without appropriate context or confirmation.

Reviews, recommendations and editorial judgment

Recommendations are editorial decisions, not guarantees. When Good Hours recommends a place, product, record, experience or service, the recommendation should have a clear editorial reason for being included.

We do not rank or recommend something solely because it offers an affiliate commission, advertising opportunity or other commercial benefit.

Commercial content

Advertising and paid partnerships are kept distinct from independent editorial coverage.

When Good Hours publishes sponsored, paid or otherwise commercially commissioned material, that relationship will be disclosed clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work.

Advertisers and commercial partners do not receive control over unrelated editorial coverage.

Affiliate links

Some Good Hours articles may contain affiliate links. If a reader makes a purchase through one of these links, Good Hours may receive a commission without increasing the price paid by the reader.

The possibility of earning a commission does not determine whether something is included or recommended. Where affiliate links are used, appropriate disclosure will accompany the content.

Artificial intelligence

Good Hours may use digital and artificial intelligence tools as part of research, drafting, editing, organization, image development or technical production. These tools do not replace editorial responsibility.

Published material remains subject to human editorial judgment. Good Hours does not knowingly publish invented quotations, sources, personal experiences, research findings or biographical information generated by artificial intelligence as fact.

When the use of generated or substantially altered material would meaningfully affect a reader’s understanding of what they are seeing or reading, additional disclosure may be provided.

Corrections and updates

Good Hours corrects substantive factual errors when they are identified and verified.

Articles may also be updated when information changes, additional context becomes necessary or an evergreen guide requires revision. Significant corrections or updates may be noted within the article when transparency requires it.

To report a possible error, email [email protected] with the article URL and a description of the issue.

PR, pitches and submissions

Good Hours receives story ideas, music, press releases and other materials from artists, publicists, brands and organizations. Receiving these materials does not create an obligation to publish them.

Coverage is selected according to relevance, editorial interest and fit with Good Hours.
